Step 04:08
Where you been stepping? What's the next step? What's the next step for you? What you been planning? What's the big plan? What do you plan to do? Did you hope to start over? Ride the wave? And conquer the sea? Conquer the sea. All of those choices. What did you choose? Who did you choose to be? All your successes, all your mistakes, never meant much to me. Did you hope to start over? Ride the wave? And learn to pray? Learn to pray. All your best moments, All your regrets, Are they all still the same? Did you hope to start over? Ride the storm? And float away? Float away.

Obsolescence 03:38
Out on the bay I'm sitting, watching the way the waves come crashing back to shore against a million grains of sand. I can't believe it all came down to you mistrusting all the answers, there is no one new around to take your mind off of today. Today. Ran out of things to say to make them go away, I'll have to settle for the company of friends that want to stay. I can't remember if I ever had the strength to feel afraid, that there is nothing new around to take my mind off of today. Today Grinding the gears of the machine built to replace you, was it hard to learn your purpose was to stave off obsolescence? And believe me they'll be asking you to thank them for the paycheck, while they tell you there is nothing new around to take your mind off of today. Today.

It's the strangest little thing, but I learnt something today. It's not much but it's a start, to dispel the illusion. When the summer skies turn grey, they'll be waiting at the gate. See them staring at the sun, as it slowly burns away. Away. It's the strangest little thing, but I broke your heart today. I don't care if you don't mind, but I'd mind if you don't care. Speak as slowly as you can, 'cause I still don't understand, anything you've said today, or why you're running away. Away. Don't know why you're running away.

Memory Lane 03:55
I'm not the kind of friend that you need, but I'm here. Much like the blind leading the dumb, I've no fear. Take all the time you'll be needing from me, I won't be using it all. Make up a use for the seconds that fall off the clock of the wall. Take a walk with me down memory lane, everybody here knows your name. The washed up and the burning out feel the same. They feel the very same way that you think you do. I'm not the guide to set you free, let's be clear. And nor a clown to bring you cheer, nowhere near. Take all the time you'll be needing from me, I won't be using it all. Make up a use for the seconds that fall off the clock of the wall. Take a walk with me down memory lane, everybody here knows your name. The washed up and the burning out feel the same. They feel the very same way that you think you do. Take a walk with me down misery lane. Everybody here feels the same, you're nothing special.

Take my offer. I won't sink this low again. And count your blessings, you've no broken mind to mend. Somewhere out there there's a person to rip you apart, at the seams. Take my pity. Take it with you if you like. 'Cause you'll need all you've got, to get this back alive. Someone out there knows you're not all you say that you are. You're not even trying. Someone right here loves you more than you'll ever deserve. Did you even notice?

Fill My Cup 05:36
Sit with me and share another story. I know them well but I love to hear you speak. Stay for another one. Stay for another one. 'Cause I think we can take this further. Let that pretty dress fall to the floor. 'Cause you don't do things like this enough anymore. Stay for another one. Stay for another one. 'Cause I got nowhere else I'd rather be. You're not getting any younger, and I've got no intention of growing up. Fill my cup 'til it runs over. Let me leave my keys here to my door, 'cause I don't meet girls like you enough anymore.

Not one to lose it, where's my cool again? I've lost track of what the dose is s'posed to be. Not on to lose it, what's my name again? This was not the side of me you're meant to see. Not one to lose it, where's my home again? Seems like every other road leads me away. Not one to lose it, what's your point again? I'm not interested in what you've got to say.

Someone Else 04:27
I've been meaning to tell you. I've been meaning to tell you, everything I said was meant for someone else. Never learnt your name. Never cared to learn the way you do things, think, or ask you how you feel. You can ask me why. You can ask me why but I'd just lie. Never learnt to pray. Never cared to try, so stay there on your knees until you learn to cry. Something tells you you've been here before. 'Cause you know every corner of the room. You woke up feeling like a bug again. Never learnt to pray. Never cared to try, so pick yourself up off your knees, and learn to fly.

Face To Face 03:45
Many long years ago we were talking face to face. And many long years before we were meeting at your favorite place. You say you hate people, but you have many more friends than I, and I'm not one of them anymore. Dive into your phone again, it's your umbilical cord to the world. Which seems to get smaller with every new contact you upload to your wall, (made up of) people that hate other people, but have so many more friends than you. Well I'm not one of them anymore. Many long years ago we were making love face to face. And I remember you wearing a negligee trimmed with lace. You say you hate people, but you've held many more friends than I. And I'm not one of them any more.
